I wish I was reading blogs like this a few years ago. I wouldnt be in the shit I am now, owing more than $1,200,000 to friends, family and banks. I would know all the right steps, I would get motivated and inspired... Now all I have left is a site called www.savemefromshit.com, which is more an example of what to avoid in life, rather than a cry for help...

Jodith - thanks for sharing your thoughts. I think Microsoft will not add that shortcut to windows if they think your computer will be harmed in a way or another.

To even make this a faster process, instead of hitting Ctrl-Alt-Del you can use the key combination Ctrl-Shift-Esc to bring you straight to the Task Manager.

What this does is cause all processes to stop whether they are in a state to stop safely or not. So yes, you can shut down quickly this way, but you are risking corrupting some of your files by shutting down this way. Better to let windows shut itself down properly, stopping each process gracefully (meaning stopping them at a point where they are supposed to stop rather than willy nilly).

Yup.. Dave is correct. Have you already tried? I used it upon doing shutdown to all my PC's here at our internet cafe, it usually saves time and safe as well..
